At the recently concluded Hygienix 2025 conference, reusable hygiene manufacturer Confitex secured the 2025 Hygienix Innovation Award for its washable non-woven sanitary pads.
By stabilizing non-woven fabric materials, Confitex has successfully developed washable personal hygiene products that can be mass-produced economically while delivering exceptional performance. Crucially, these products do not rely on superabsorbent polymers (SAPs), proving that high performance and sustainability can coexist. The material combines the familiarity and performance advantages of disposable products with the washability, lower per-use cost, and reduced waste characteristics of reusable alternatives.
Compared to disposable sanitary products costing 29 cents per use and consuming 0.5 grams of nonwoven fabric, Confitex's washable nonwoven sanitary pads cost just 22 cents per use while utilizing 8 grams of nonwoven material. Their absorption capacity reaches 17.5 milliliters, significantly exceeding the 10 milliliters of disposable pads.
Confitex sanitary pads' core technology lies in proprietary bonding processes that integrate and stabilize nonwoven fibers, enabling machine washing and tumble drying. This preserves the familiar feel and convenience of single-use products while ensuring consumer convenience. Additionally, the product incorporates Confitex Washable Adhesive for enhanced reinforcement.
