On January 12, Xinweisheng Group successfully produced and introduced its 0.4D hot-air nonwoven material, demonstrating the company's R&D and manufacturing capabilities in ultra-fine denier hot-air nonwovens. This 0.4D hot-air nonwoven material represents another breakthrough in ultra-fine denier, ultra-soft hot-air nonwovens for Xinweisheng Group, following the 0.8D in 2021 and the 0.6D in 2024.
The 0.4D specification indicates that only 0.4 grams of fiber are present per 9,000 meters of length, with a diameter less than two-thirds that of silk. While this delivers enhanced softness, its lightweight nature and fine diameter pose significant challenges for nonwoven carding equipment and processes. Leveraging years of research in fine-denier nonwovens and accumulated process big data, the New Weisheng technical team overcame these technical hurdles, successfully carding 0.4D fibers and achieving commercial-scale production.
This 0.4D hot-air nonwoven will elevate softness in hygiene products—particularly diapers and sanitary napkins—delivering a softer experience for consumers in China and globally. New Weisheng is also continuously advancing the smart manufacturing capabilities of its hot-air nonwoven production.
