Asahi Kasei's Subsidiary to Merge with Teijin Subsidiary to Form New Joint Venture

Asahi Kasei Advance Corp., a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Corporation, will be merged into Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the textile and materials business unit of Teijin Group. The merger will establish a new joint venture in which Teijin will hold an 80% stake and Asahi Kasei a 20% stake.

Founded in 2015, Asahi Kasei Advance primarily handles trading operations for Asahi Kasei Group products, including fibers, chemicals, and building materials. Teijin Frontier integrates trading, global procurement, and manufacturing capabilities, specializing in developing and producing high-performance fibers to deliver unique solutions across apparel textiles and industrial materials sectors. Given the need for sustained future business expansion, all parties believe integrating Asahi Kasei Advance's operations into Teijin Frontier will better support overall growth than allowing it to develop independently.

Notably, Hangzhou Asahi Kasei Textile Co., Ltd.—a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei (China) Co., Ltd. engaged in textile production and sales—will first be transferred to Asahi Kasei Advance prior to the integration.
